Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE) County Technical Assistance

​Funded by the California Department of Education, the Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE) County Technical Assistance program provides leadership, administrative oversight, training, and technical assistance to LEAs in the following areas:
  • Tobacco-free school policies
  • Tobacco-use prevention education and instruction
  • Staff professional development
  • Family engagement
  • Interagency partnerships
  • Cessation support and referrals
  • Program assessment
  • Preparing TUPE grant applications
As a requirement of receiving Proposition 56 funding, COEs must provide TA aimed at accelerating and monitoring the rate of decline in tobacco-related disparities for the purpose of eliminating tobacco-related disparities.
