​The purpose of the Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE) program is to reduce youth tobacco use by helping young people make healthy tobacco-related decisions through tobacco-specific, research-validated educational instruction and activities that build knowledge,​ as well as social skills and youth development assets. TUPE funding originates from tobacco tax revenue and provides prevention programs in grades six through twelve. 

The Orange County TUPE Consortium, led by the Orange County Department of Education, is a partnership of twelve school districts. Participating school district​s are: OCDE ACCESS (Alternative Education Division), Buena Park School District, Fountain Valley School District, Garden Grove Unified School District, Huntington Beach City School District, Laguna Beach Unified School District, ​Saddleback Valley Unified School District, Santa Ana Unified School District, Tustin Unified School District, Capistrano Unified School District, Newport Mesa Unified School District, and Westminster School District.

5th Annual Teaching Cannabis Awareness and Prevention Conference

Stanford REACH Lab is excited to announce their 5th Annual Teaching Cannabis Awareness and Prevention Conference, to be held on April 17th & 18th, 2024 from 8am-2pm PT on both days, remotely. 

Come learn about the latest research on youth and cannabis and cannabis and tobacco co-use, including products being used, reasons for use, health effects, and the latest available lessons for teaching cannabis, tobacco, and cannabis and tobacco co-use education and prevention to elementary, middle- and high school-aged youth. 

This year the registration fee will be $150 per person ($125 if register by March 1, 2024).

Stanford Tobacco Prevention Toolkit – Upcoming Training Opportunities

This 90-minute training will focus on the new You & Me, Together Vape-Free curriculum, part of the Stanford Tobacco Prevention Toolkit.
