Training and Program Support

​​​PAL Advisor Academy

Join other certified PAL Advisors on November 13, 2018, to discuss best practices and learn new strategies to provide effective peer leadership on your campus. This training will build upon the initial PAL Advisor Training.  The cost is $50 per participant.

Training components include:

  • Assessing program needs and delivery
  • Integrating PAL with school-wide initiatives
  • Successful peer helping strategies
  • Current trends and issues facing Orange County students
  • Resources and activities to support your PAL student training and prevention projects

PAL Advisor Training

The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) offers PAL Advisor Trainings which provide the needed skills for teachers, counselors, or other school administrators to develop a school site PAL program. The cost of the two-day training is $350.  Upcoming trainings and registration links:

Spring 2019 PAL Advisor Training:

  • Elementary PAL Advisor Training - March 14-15, 2019
  • Secondary PAL Advisor Training - March 19-20, 2019

    Registration will open on December 1, 2018.

    Peer Conflict Mediation Coordinator Training

    OCDE also offers a Peer Conflict Resolution Coordinator Training which can be incorporated into your PAL program, or run as a separate program.
