Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Prevention

Above the Influence: The Office of National Drug Control Policy's National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign to help teens stand up to negative pressures or influences.

Alcohol & Drug Intervention & Prevention Team (ADEPT): This organization run by the County of Orange Health Care Agency, provides alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention information, materials and videos.

Center for Drug Free Communities (CDFC):  Dr. Bill Beacham, Executive Director of CDFC, runs PAL Camps and TeamWork Days, and provides training for educators, law enforcement personnel and parents in substance use, abuse, prevention, and treatment.

Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY):  Run by Boston University, CAMY monitors the marketing practices of the alcohol industry to focus attention and action on industry practices that jeopardize the health and safety of America's youth.

Great American Smokeout:  Smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout® by smoking less or quitting for the day on the third Thursday of November.

Orange County Friday Night Live Partnership (OCFNLP): The OCFNLP program engages young people in alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention activities on school campuses and in community-based organizations.

Orange County Substance Abuse Prevention Network (OCSAPN): OCSAPN promotes and enhances the quality, quantity, coordination, and cooperation of positive youth development programs and prevention services in Orange County. 

Tobacco Use Prevention Program (TUPP):  Orange County Health Care Agency's TUPP provides tobacco prevention, policy information, teen and adult cessation services, materials and videos.

World No Tobacco Day: Sponsored by the World Health Organization, the objective of World No-Tobacco Day is to bring awareness to the dangers of tobacco use.
