Project GLAD® professional learning and supports are available through contracted services with the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) and individual agencies and districts, as well as through Regional Training Centers (RTCs) and the Research & Development Center at California State University, Fullerton.

These services are offered across three strands: Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary, ensuring strategies are responsive to the unique developmental and academic needs of learners at every level.

Leadership Academy

DESIGNING A PATHWAY TO ACHIEVEMENT

This 12-hour workshop serves as a prerequisite path for the Foundations Training. The purpose of this workshop is to support educational agencies with the development, implementation, and sustainability of the Project GLAD^® model.

Early Childhood Foundations Training

K-12 Foundations Training

Become a Project GLAD® Educator by completing the K-12 Foundations Training through our Research and Development Center at CSU Fullerton. This training will be delivered in English only. Full attendance on all six days is required for a K-12 Foundations Certificate of Completion.

Secondary Foundations Training

This two-year professional learning series focuses on implementing Project GLAD® strategies in middle school and high school settings. Educators may attend individual two-day modules, but full attendance on all four modules is required for a Secondary Foundations Certificate of Completion.

Project GLAD® in Secondary

Agency Trainer Pathway

Are you looking to take the next step in your professional journey as an instructional leader and advocate for Multilingual Learners?

As a Project GLAD® Agency Trainer, you are an instructional leader who provides Foundations Training and ongoing support with the Project GLAD® model at the school and/or district level. You will support educators in the areas of: academic language and literacy for Multilingual Learners, standards-based instruction, successful management of cooperative learning, strategies for cross-cultural respect in the classroom, follow up, and planning and collaboration for teachers.

Early Childhood Agency Trainer Pathway

K-12 Agency Trainer Pathway

Becoming a K-12 Agency Trainer requires a team of 2-5 individuals to do the following:

Complete the K-12 Foundations Training
Regularly practice Project GLAD® strategies in the classroom (6 months minimum)
Attend the Advanced 3-Day Research & Theory Workshop and Advanced 5-Day Classroom Demonstration
Complete and pass the requirements

Customized Training & Support

Agency Trainers will provide differentiated follow-up coaching to Project GLAD® trained educators through individualized and grade-level team support designed to strengthen implementation and deepen the use of Project GLAD® strategies.

This customized service fosters collaboration, modeling, reflection, and goal setting. Coaching may include classroom modeling, co-teaching, collaborative planning, and dedicated time to develop standards-based lessons and prepare instructional strategies.

Renewal

This service is only Project GLAD® Agency Trainers, New Agency Trainers (certified within the last 12 months), or Field Consultants. Renewal requirements are completed online through a hybrid format that integrates scheduled live sessions and asynchronous Canvas coursework. Participants have approximately two months to complete the self-paced training course. Licensing Agreements are renewed upon successful completion of the course and badges are earned upon the completion of each module.
