Part I

(Limited to 50 participants)

Preschool GLAD® Part I is a one-day training that introduces the research/theory and strategies of the Preschool GLAD® model. Participants will receive the Preschool GLAD® Handbook which includes the research and theory supporting Preschool GLAD®, information on each of the developmentally appropriate strategies, and an alignment with Desired Results Developmental Profile-PS-2010.

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Part II

(Limited to 20 participants)

Preschool GLAD® Part II is a four-day in-classroom observation of the model and strategies. Two trainers work together to provide a guided demonstration of Preschool GLAD® strategies. Each day of the demonstration highlights the use of different Preschool GLAD® strategies. Over the four days of in-class demonstration teachers will actively engage with each of the 17 strategies.

In the morning sessions of the training days, one trainer teaches the children and demonstrates each strategy while the other trainer is coaching the training participants. The Coaching Trainer helps teachers understand the purpose of each strategy, identify the scaffold support, and recognize ongoing assessment techniques being employed by the training teacher.

In the afternoon session of each day, participants learn more about the research behind the scaffold support and ongoing assessment, ask their questions, and begin planning how to integrate these strategies into their own established programs. Preschool GLAD® trainers facilitate the process of teacher collaboration and are available to work with participants on an individual basis.

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

Cost: $750.00 per person (Parts I & II)

Coaching

Trainers visit classrooms, observe or model strategies, and meet with teachers on successes, challenges, and future plans. Coaching is planned with the director and teachers in order to meet individual and group needs.

 Cost:  $900.00 per day
