What is the Outstanding Contributions to Education Awards Program?

The program recognizes the contributions of individuals, groups, and organizations whose unique efforts have impacted the education of Orange County students. Awards are presented at the Orange County Board of Education meetings, followed by a reception for honorees and guests. 

Who is Eligible to be Nominated?

Any individual, group or organization, whose efforts have contributed significantly to the education of Orange County students, can be nominated. Nominees may be, but are not limited to, administrators, cafeteria workers, community volunteers, counselors, nurses, crossing guards, custodians, secretaries, teachers, aides, transportation staff, service organizations, philanthropic groups, etc. 

Who May Nominate Candidates?

Individuals, school districts, and organizations are invited to nominate candidates. There is no limit to the number of nominations that may be submitted. Nomination forms may be duplicated. No supplementary material (i.e., pictures, letters, endorsements, etc.) will be reviewed. 

How Long Do Nominations Remain Active?

After one (1) year, nominations not selected will be returned to the nominator who may update information and resubmit. All current nomination forms will be kept in an active file and only those candidates selected will be officially notified. 

Deadlines for Submission of Nominations?

Nominations are accepted on a continuous basis, and selections are made in August, November, and January.
