Please bring the following two items with you.
Your registration cannot be processed without:
1.Money Order made out to CTEp/OCDE. NO Personal Checks, Credit Cards or Cash will be accepted as payment. No exceptions. If you do not have a Money Order, your spot will not be held for the class while you go obtain one. Please plan ahead!
2.Valid Photo ID Card
 
Dental Assistant Chairside I
  • Time: ​8:30 a.m. - 1:00p.m. ​
  • Days: MTWThF
  • Dates: ​09/08/14-​10/31/14
  • Cost: ​$ 400
 This course introduces students to a career as a dental assistant.  Instruction will include an overview of the anatomy of teeth and surrounding structures, infection control, preparing patients for examinations, sterilizing instruments and setting up trays.  Theory and clinical application in dental radiography is included.  
Class Location for Dental Assistant I & II:  Valley High School, 1801 S. Greenville, Santa Ana, Ca.  92704.
Dental Assistant Chairside II
•Time: ​8:30 a.m. - 1:00p.m. ​
•Days: MTWThF
•Dates: ​11/03/14 - 1/26/15
•Cost: ​$ 400
Pre requisite:  Successful completion of Dental Assistant Chairside I with a final grade of B or better. Registration date TBD.
Dental Assistant Chairside II combines classroom instruction with unpaid community classroom internship where students will gain actual experience in the dental field by assisting a dentist.  Students will prepare patients, sterilize and disinfect instruments, setup instrument trays, prepare materials and assist the dentist during dental procedures.
Medical Back Office I
•Time: ​8:30 a.m. - 1:00p.m. ​
•Days: MTWThF
•Dates: ​09/08/14-​10/31/14
•Cost: ​$ 400
This course provides students with classroom instruction and practical experience in medical ethics, medical terminology, and anatomy. Students will also learn how to perform basic lab tests, give injections, oversee inventory control, and assist with EKG exams. Disease process, medical emergencies,  pharmacology, and instrument sterilization will also be covered.

 Medical Back Office II
•Time: ​8:30 a.m. - 1:00p.m. ​
•Days: MTWThF
•Dates: ​09/08/14-​10/31/14
•Cost: ​$ 400
Pre requisite:  Successful completion of Medical Back Office I with a final grade of B or better.  Registration date TBD.
Medical Back Office/Clinical Assistant II combines classroom instruction with unpaid internship in a local medical office or clinic.  Students will continue to develop the skills acquired in the classroom as they assist with patient exams, tests and procedures, conduct screening tests and setting up sterile environments.
