On November 15, 2012, FNL Kids members from Malabar Apartments Project ACCESS partnered with a local church that donated a Thanksgiving dinner to their residents. They used this opportunity to promote the importance of family dinners. Research shows that youth who have frequent family dinners are less likely to use drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Youth made and hung posters that depicted different family eating activities - lunch at the park, beach picnics, and hiking trips to name a few. Chapter members also spoke about why we should spend more time with our families and passed out parent toolkits provided by the County of Orange Health Care Agency's Alcohol and Drug Education and Prevention Team (ADEPT) describing different dinnertime activities.
