The Club Live members of Currie Middle School completed their annual Sight Night campaign this past November. Over the past 10 years, they have been collecting prescription glasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses for Lenscrafters
who donated the glasses to disaster relief organizations. Collection receptacles were placed in the front office and in the courtyard during lunch where donations could easily be received. As an incentive, students at the middle school received free nachos in exchange for a pair of donated glasses. Club Live also reached out to community members through the Tustin Newspaper and Tustin Unified School District, gaining an abundant response from the community. Their collections during the month of November were well worth the effort as they collected 260 pairs of glasses. To date, they have collected over 2,030 pairs which have helped thousands of disaster victims.
