Council Committees

The Orange County Child Care and Development Planning Council (Council) has committees that work to accomplish Council responsibilities.  On behalf of all children, the Council works to:

  • Promote access to quality child care and development services
  • Prepare comprehensive, countywide child care plans to mobilize public and private resources
  • Undertake a thorough assessment of the county's child care needs at least every 5 years
  • Serve as a forum to increase public awareness of issues that affect the accessibility, affordability and quality of child care
  • Collaborate with child care providers, children services agencies, special interest groups, community organizations and government agencies to provide families with quality child care options
  • Promote educational opportunities for professional growth of early care and education staff
  • Provide technical assistance for child care providers on business practices and funding for child development
