News Literacy ProjectThe News Literacy Project is an "innovative national educational program that mobilized seasoned journalists to work with educators to teach middle school and high school students how to sort fact from fiction in the digital age." Their site offers a lot of paid subscription material, but they have some free lesson modules as well. Story Shares is a non-profit organization devoted to inspiring reading practice and improving literacy skills.”  The organization leverages technology to bring books worth reading to teens and young adults who struggle. As most readers of Literacy Beat who work with adolescents know, finding material that is not overwhelming is a challenge.​
