In 2010, ACCESS received a six-year accreditation. The process developed by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), has a dual purpose that sets the expectation that schools must be worthy of the trust placed in them to provide high-quality learning opportunities, and it adds the requirement that schools clearly demonstrate that they are involved in the continual process of self improvement. The following is a list of several areas of strength that were found in ACCESS by the WASC accreditation visiting committees:
 
• A caring and healthy environment is clearly evident as a result of the staff’s focus on the ESLR addressing “engagement", and Common Core educational strategies to promote college and career readiness.
 
• There is a reciprocal relationship with referring districts that promotes the transition of students to and from county programs.
 
• The increasing use of Assessment Centers is indicative of the growing practice of assessing students’ needs and skills to improve learning and access to support services.

ACCESS Mission
The ACCESS divisional mission is to provide a continuum of services for agency partners and school districts to serve special populations and ensure alternative students are college and career ready.
 
ACCESS will provide high quality programs and services that close the achievement gap for all students and prepare students to become successful contributing members of the community.
